Some new vinatge finds, sorry for the delay !

So sorry for not posting more recently ! I have been terribly busy with student teaching. I found two really unique pieces at Rags to Riches UPSCALE Resale in Delaware.

The first is a should bag with crazy detail both inside and out. It reminds me of a bag I saw in Lucky magazine recently.

The next piece a funky 60's psychadelic print dress, very Pucci. It was $17. Great for halloween but I would probably wear it out as well.

My favorite places for vintage

1. Salvation Army/Goodwill : I feel like a lot of people really overlook these stores for a great place to find vintage clothes. You might not find a Chanel bag or a Dior scarf, but you can def. locate unique and eclectic pieces. The best part is they are usually under $5 and go toward a good cause.

2. Antique stores: Once again a lot of people think antique stores are strictly furniture and other goods, but they can be a great place for vintage accessories such as jewelry, bags, and furs. The next time you see one I suggest you walk in and browse around.
One of my favorite's is the 5&10 antique market (http://www.5n10antiques.com/) in Northeast, MD.

3. Vintage stores: Probably the most expensive of the group, vintage clothing stores are amazing. My favorites include Malena's Vintage Boutique (http://www.malenasboutique.com/) in West Chester, PA, Rags to Riches UPSCALE Resale (http://www.ragstorichesresale.com/) in Wilmington, DE, The Green Eyed Lady (http://www.shopgreeneyedlady.com/servlet/StoreFront) in West Chester, PA, and Cottage Home (http://cottagehome.typepad.com/) in West Chester, PA.

4. Tag/Estate Sales: A great place to find second-hand clothing and often times great estate jewelry.

All of these places are great for finding vinatge clothes and remember the hunt is half the fun. Never feel ashamed or embarrassed for buying second hand clothing. You are making someone's trash your treasure and this speaks volumes for your creativity.

Hey everyone ! I hope you enjoy this small, yet fun post. I do not know how often I will be posting in the future being that I start student teaching. I will try to post at least twice a week.

Great little vintage cigarette case which I use when I go out for my cell and ID.

Great vintage turban from Rags to Riches Upscale Consignment in Delaware.

Great vintage bag I picked up at Etsy.com. I love how it has all the cities of the world on it. Its a great barrel shape like the LV Speedy.

Student Teaching

I start my student teaching experience next week ! I am having the hardest time finding an outfit to wear for the first day. I want to look professional yet be my eclectic self. We shall see how it turns out but I want it to be memorable.

Vintage and Thrifted Belts

All the belts below were under $5 except for the red anchor belt which was $10, talk about some sweet deals.

Woven leather from Argentina.

Really awesome hinged belt, reminds me of an old door hinge.
Pretty purple and aqua, so cute.

My personal favorite, a vintage belt from Rags to Riches Consignment in Delaware.

Some belts I have collected over the years.

Seven beauties. All but the red belt are from either the Goodwill or the Salvation Army.

Some vintage jewelry I have picked up in the past....

These are some pictures of my vintage jewelry collection, please enjoy.

This is a really cool piece I found at the Goodwill for about $2. I saw a white one on Chictopia as past of their Chicpoints tutorial and was wondering if maybe this is more special than I thought ???
These beads are a pretty color blue and very very heavy. I found this at the Goodwill for about $2.

Three pretty rings. The first (turquoise) was my boyfriend's grandmother's ring. I am not sure how authentic the stone is, but I love it nonetheless. The second ring is from the end of a spoon and the last is a fork ring, pretty cool right?
This picture does not do this necklace any justice, but this is one of my favorite pieces of jewelry. The stones are a light purple hue, yet almost transluscent. Purchased at The Green Eyed Lady in West Chester, PA.

Great piece of Robert Rose costume jewelry. I found this at The Green Eyed Lady in West Chester, PA. The store specializes in vintage accessories, mostly jewelry.

Awesome cameo earrings with a slight bow and pearl detail. A great vintage find from Malena's Vintage Boutique in West Chester, PA.

Beautiful flower pin given to me as a gift from my old voice lesson instructor. It was her grandmother's and she knew how much I loved fashion.

This is a cameo pin I picked up a Malena's Vintage Boutique in West Chester, PA for about $10-$15, I can't really remember... It is beautiful though and it gets a lot of second looks.
Hope you enjoyed these pictures... I am thinking about doing a post on my collection of furs next. They are old and vintage (with other people's monograms) and I don't support killing animals

Too Early

I am up entirely too early this morning. Should be posting some of my vintage jewelry collection later on. And, yes, 7:30 a.m. is too early for me... I don't do mornings.

Some other finds from the Newark Salvation Army

This is a great little blue and white blazer, love the polka dots, with a fake hanky. It is shoulder pads, which I can sometimes loathe. This time I decided to let them in for structure.

This is a cute little dress by ???? , there is not a tag anywhere in site, all I know is it fits me great. I will always love a good polka dot. The name makes me think of the Fabulous Beekman Boys and Polka Spot the llama !

Salvation Army Finds

Today I did some thrifting at the Salvation Army Store in Newark, DE. I found three great belts and four clothing items. One of the belts was woven brown leather from Argentina. You can see it in this picture.
