According to the Huffington Post, there is a ranking of the most fashionable cities in America. Bundle.com did the leg work in this study. According to the HuffPo, "Bundle selected the 50 largest cities based on population data and created a "fashion-conscious index" to rank them based on the percentage of "fashion-conscious households" in our sample, which we defined as households that had at least four transactions at top-end designer merchants in the past 30 months."
When one thinks about the number one most fashionable city I am sure that New York, Los Angeles, or even Miami come to mind. This top ten list proved ALL THREE of these cities incorrect. See if the list below matches up with your guesses.
10. Boston, Massachusetts
9. Washington, D.C.
8. San Francisco, California
7. Plano, Texas
6. Chicago, Illinois
5. Dallas, Texas
4. Miami, Florida
3. Los Angeles, California
1. Irvine, California
Despite the findings of this study, I truly believe that money cannot buy style. That is exactly what this study is based on... money. Four high fashion purchases in 30 months does not necessarily make you a "fashionable" person.
As Edna Woolman once said, "Fashion can be bought. Style one must possess."
Do the results shock you? I would love to know!
