Vintage Meets Grecian Gold

I have to say that I was hesitant to buy this shimmering gold dress at first. I had a hard time justifying the purchase because I did not think that I would wear it often. Now that I have worn it a few times I realize that gold can be just as neutral as black and brown.  As time goes on, this dress will become a year-round staple is my wardrobe. The vest that I am wearing is vintage, I believe it to be handmade.

Gold Dress - H&M
Vest - Vintage
Wedges - Random Brand from Famous Footwear
Necklace - Shop on Etsy (I feel terrible because I cannot remember the name!)

A truly stunning statement necklace. Last year I went through a phase where all I wanted to do was buy chunky link necklaces. This caught my eye as it was different than your typical ghetto gold necklace. The tortoise shell goes with just about everything!

Right now I am currently in the running to be named the "Most Stylish Girl in Philadelphia". Voting is open to the public until the 26th of June and I need your votes! My entry name is "Another Woman's Treasure". You can vote multiple times a day and everyday until voting closes. YOUR SUPPORT IS APPRECIATED!

Outfit of the Day: Nautical Meets Polka Dots

I do not think it is a secret that I love anything nautical. Whether it be anchors, navy blue, sailor stripes, etc., the theme is something that I have always loved. There are so many ways to truly have a "nautical" theme, but I think making it your own is very important. With the outfit below, I brought in some polka dots to create a look that worked, with a vintage flare.

Headband - Was once a belt
Top- H&M
Skirt- Vintage
Shoes- Penny Loves Kenny
Clutch - Vintage
Necklace - Antique store on Cape Cod

I really love this look because the skirt really gives me a tiny waist. Perfect for many shapes, a high- waisted skirt will make your waist seem smaller and its flared hem will draw away from your thighs.

I love this little bag. It was something I thrifted ages ago and have held onto ever since. I even love the name on the label, "Sprinkles".

This necklace was a great find at an antique store on Cape Cod. Gold with navy detailing, it went with just about every outfit I took on that vacation. See the anchors on my tank? That top is REALLY old!

Pretty cool shot, eh? This is the Rockford Tower in Wilmington, Delaware. It is a 100 year old water tower that is now part of a local park. I feel like Polly Pocket here! Great shot by my boyfriend.

Vintage Style: My Retro Weekend Look

I am usually not one to try a retro 1960s/1970s look but it was incredibly hot in Pennsylvania over the weekend and this dress was cool and comfortable. I had done some modeling earlier in the afternoon in fabrics that were synthetic so by the end of the day I was begging for something cotton. This dress actually belonged to my boyfriend's mom, a true vintage piece that will be eternally cool in my book. As you can see, I am wearing my favorite leather belt with a floral brooch over the buckle for a different look.

Dress - Vintage
Belt - Thifted
Flower Brooch - Vintage
Sunglasses - Steve Madden
Wedges - Target
Purse - Thrifted
Bangles - My mom's and thrifted

I love a great bangle! The bamboo bangle above is from a thrift shop. The one next to it was my mother's from Acapulco. The other two are from thrift shops as well.

This flower brooch was given to me by my voice coach in high school as my senior gift. It was her grandmother's.

This great little beaded bag was a treasure I found at a thrift shop. It does not carry much but is perfect for the evening. Excuse my lack of manicure!

I bought these wedges for $10 at Target! I am sure I will have worn them out by the end of the summer.

So that was my ultra-vintage look from this weekend. I would love to see a link to your vintage look below!
